Carers United
There are an estimated 7 million carers in the UK. Over 900,000 carers provide over 50 hours of care a week. Carers are people that look after family, including parents bringing up a disabled child, partners or friends who, because of disability, illness or frailty cannot manage without help.
Carers United are a consortium made up from Carers UK, Contact a Family, Crossroads - Caring for Carers and Princess Royal Trust for Carers. Each charity is committed to supporting people who care for others by providing helplines, advocacy, short term breaks, information, advice and practical help.
Refuge
Refuge is a national charity, which supports women and children who experience domestic violence. Today, domestic violence causes more injuries to women than car accidents, muggings and rapes combined. Refuge needs your support to continue to provide its life-saving work. Make a difference today. RNLI
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution saves lives at sea. It provides 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue services for the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, and a beach lifeguard service on 57 beaches in the south west of England. The RNLI relies on voluntary contributions and legacies for its income.
Samaritans
Samaritans provides confidential non judgemental 24 hour emotional support for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair including those which may lead to suicide. Samaritans service is delivered by over 17,500 volunteers, every day Samaritans touches the lives of millions of people, providing emotional support by telephone, face to face, email, SMS text and letter
The Somebody Cares Consortium
Somebody Cares is a consortium of four charities working together to raise funds for, and awareness of, difficult social issues. Money raised is split between the four charities: Addaction, Homeless Link, The National AIDS Trust and Prisoners Abroad.
St. John Ambulance
St. John Ambulance is the UK's leading First Aid and Care charity. Our volunteers provide First Aid, Care and support for local communities, tackling specific needs through our social care projects. Some examples of our projects are mobile health units - volunteers treat the homeless who have health problems as well as teaching individuals First Aid enabling them to look after themselves on the street.
Our Neighbourhood First Responder Units bring lifesaving skills and equipment to the heart of the community. Volunteers train local people and provide them with the skills and specialist equipment to save lives in emergency situations
